Project Brief:

The solution also needed to be odourless, as important air intakes were adjacent to the roofs being refurbished.  The Trust decided to overlay the existing roofs with a new liquid waterproofing membrane which offered a fast cure time, low odour application and minimal disruption.

To meet the requirements, the licensed contractor specified the Cold Melt® seamless waterproofing system from Proteus Waterproofing to extend the lifespan of the roof.  Chosen for its extremely low odour installation, Cold Melt® was selected with a Cold Melt® UV top coat finish to ensure UV stability. The additional benefit of this system was the slip-resistant aggregate finish which improved the safety of all refurbished areas where foot traffic is experienced.

Working on occupied buildings, particularly in cities, safety is always of utmost importance. Proteus Waterproofing liquid applied systems are cold installed and meet all the health and safety criteria to work on occupied buildings and minimise risk of fire. With the hospital building constantly operating, the low odour application allowed the licensed contractor to work safely and with minimal disruption to staff and patients.
