Located between Neasden and Wembley Park stations on the Metropolitan Line, the depot is used to maintain the Underground’s fleet of S Stock trains in operation since 2010. To waterproof the 40m² hut used by the depot’s security team, contractor Simmons turned to the product range, technical expertise and practical experience of Proteus.
Key Requirements: Minimal Disruption
With the site fully operational for the duration, Proteus required a roofing system with a fast and hassle-free application. Proteus Pro-Cold system’s simple and efficient overlay ensured reduced disruption, minimised noise onsite and offered a smooth installation when compared with hot-applied alternatives.
Key Requirement: Aesthetics
Before the waterproofing application could begin, Proteus removed and cleared the roof’s existing roof chippings. Working around the site’s security fencing from a safety lanyard, Proteus applied a fully built-up application comprising Base Coat and Pro-Force, Intermediate Top Coat and a final aesthetic Top Coat.
Key Requirement: Long Term Performance
Specified in a traditional dark grey finish, Pro-Cold also utilises innovative liquid seamless waterproofing technology to provide a maintenance free roofing system that will last for 25 years – providing a long term and sustainable solution which was ideal for the challenging location.
Meeting strict application restrictions and maintaining exceptional attention to detail, the seamless Proteus waterproofing system helped to ensure the Neasden
Depot project will benefit from outstanding workmanship, high quality products and exceptional weather protection for years to come.
