Project Brief

Set for completion in 2014, Moorgate Exchange will create 21,000m2 of Grade A office space in the City of London – built to meet BREEAM Excellent and Platinum LEED environmental standards.

Key Requirement: Health & Safety

With works undertaken at a height of 3.5 metres on a vertical surface, it was vital that any waterproofing application followed a strict regime to ensure the health and safety of site operatives. The simple and efficient application of Proteus’ Cold Melt ensured minimal disruption on site, exceptional health and safety standards and a quality, watertight finish.

Key Requirement: Long Term Performance

As Cold Melt does not become brittle with age, once protected with the application of the Cold Melt UVR (Ultraviolet radiation) Top Coat – the system may be protected from ultraviolet exposure for the life cycle of the building.

With exceptional long term performance, it proved ideal to meet the project’s environmental and sustainability targets.

Key Requirements: Minimal Disruption

For a waterproofing application within the building’s oil tank storage room, exceptional chemical resistance was a prerequisite. Offering an extremely low odour application, the ability to be cold-applied over a variety of substrates and a seamless finish – Cold Melt once again offered a fast, hassle-free and high quality solution.

Meeting strict application restrictions and enabling exceptional attention to detail, the seamless Cold Melt waterproofing system has helped to ensure the Moorgate Exchange will benefit from outstanding watertightness for many years to come.
