Project Brief:
At Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham, Sussex, a high performance and cost effective roof refurbishment system was required to repair a two-tier pitched roof. Attended by ‘bouncing bomb’ developer Sir Barnes Wallis, many of the school buildings were rebuilt with Wallis as Secretary and Chairman of The Council of Almoners – corporate Trustee of Christ’s Hospital Foundation.

During the refurbishment of one of these concrete buildings, the project’s roofing contractor specified Proteus’ Pro-Felt system as it offered a high-speed application to bring the original felt roof up to standard for modern day use.
Key Requirement: High Performance Waterproofing:
Pro-Felt roof overlay systems are high performance bituminous felts, with a very high SBS content making it a highly flexible membrane. Pro-Felt is engineered to perform in the toughest cold weather conditions.

Key Requirements: Quality Control
Due to the complex nature of the works, Proteus Waterproofing and the roofing contractor worked in close partnership to successfully deliver the project to a very high standard.

Key Requirements: Performance
Proteus Waterproofing roof systems offer 10, 15, 20 and 25 year durability options, as waterproofing overlays and Built-Up Roof systems. These are available in both cold applied and hot applied installation options.
